January 20, 2013 Prayer Note

Dear Family & Friends,

‘“…For nothing will be impossible with God.” So  Mary said, “Yes, I am a servant of the Lord; let this happen to me  according to your word.”  Then  the angel departed from her.’  Luke 1:37-38

As the Bible storying group continues through our set of stories we are now ready for the coming of the Christ.  The short quote above should serve as a reminder for us all that the knowledge of God’s ability to accomplish all things should enable us to say yes to God’s call on our lives.  We often get caught up in thinking how difficult something might be instead of focusing on the power of God to accomplish all things through us.  Pray for the story of the coming of Christ to affect the lives of each of us in the Bible storying group.

We ask that you continue to pray for the Bao & Yen families as they have recently lost loved ones.  Yesterday was Uncle Bao’s funeral and this coming Saturday will be the funeral for Uncle Yen.  Shu Mei is an only child so everything is falling upon her and her husband for Uncle Yen’s funeral.  Pray that through this time the God’s people can have a great witness to her husband.

Sometime back we asked you to pray for Sunshine, a baby that was receiving care from His Hands but was born with several problems.  She had improved greatly over the past couple of months and had even been able to return to the nursery.  On Thursday after a day testing Sunshine went to be with God where she is now resting in His arms and enjoying life in heaven.  Pray for all those that helped take care of Sunshine and grew to love her dearly.  Pray for her birth parents as well, as they too grieve her loss.

We are grateful for all the prayers for our new granddaughters and Bethany.  The babies and Bethany are all doing well.  John’s mom is there now to help, so hopefully Phillip is getting enough rest as well.  We also ask that you pray for Dave & Jeanay Stiles’ new granddaughter Reilly.  She was born early as well and is having some trouble with her lungs.  Their daughter-in-law, Debbie, delivered by c-section, so pray for her recovery as well.  We are grateful for these blessings to our team’s family.

Please pray for Dave Atkin’s father, Marvin, he has been diagnosed with prostate cancer.  It has metastasized in his lower spine.  He is currently undergoing aggressive treatments to fight this aggressive form of cancer.  Please pray for his wife Janice as well.

Thank you for lifting these items up to the Lord in prayer.

God Bless,

John & Cheryl
