Dear Family & Friends,
A dispute also started among them over which of them was to be regarded as the greatest. So Jesus said to them, “The kings of the Gentiles lord it over them, and those in authority over them are called ‘benefactors.’ Not so with you; instead the one who is greatest among you must become like the youngest, and the leader like the one who serves.” Luke 22:24-26 NET
This happened, as Jesus had just said that there was one among them that would betray Him. It is only hours before His death and the disciples have still not learned the lesson about servanthood. Once again Jesus emphasized that a true leader is always looking for ways to serve others. A true leader does not need to emphasize his position or try to raise himself up. Pray that we learn to lead like Jesus through serving others.
Please pray for Su-jen who attends the Wednesday evening Bible storying group. She, like many moms, is concerned for her son to find the proper wife. Discussion, prompted by the fact that God initiated marriage when he presented Eve to Adam, led to how Christian parents pray for the future marriage of their children. Su-jen is not yet a Christian, but she is beginning to believe. She is now praying for her son’s future mate, and even told her son he should as well. Pray that Su-jen will continue to take these steps that will lead her to saving faith in Jesus.
Thank you for praying for the first meeting of the new Bible study at a friend’s company. The first meeting was this past week. There were about 10 in total that were involved. Over half were not Christians. Pray for this group as we begin to explore God’s Word together.
We ask that you continue to pray for the His Hands ministry. They have been very busy recently. There are presently three moms at the home. One will be leaving soon. We desire to help these mom’s get out of their previous situations, but it takes resources and time. Pray for wisdom to understand God’s direction for the ministry to these moms.
We ask that you pray for the Taiwan Missionary Fellowship Conference (TMF). Our mission is responsible for the program this summer. John is responsible for finding volunteers for the youth & children’s program. We have had problems finding people that are able to help. It is very costly to purchase tickets to travel from the US and other places to help with the program. Pray that we will have wisdom on how to provide a good program for the children this summer. If you are interested in helping in someway please contact us.
