March 24, 2013 Prayer Note

Dear Family & Friends,

“You must let no unwholesome word come out of your mouth, but only what is beneficial for the building up of the one in need, that it may give grace to those who hear.  And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, by whom you were sealed for the day of redemption.  You must put away every kind of bitterness, anger, wrath, quarreling, and evil, slanderous talk.  Instead, be kind to one another, compassionate, forgiving one another, just as God in Christ also forgave you.”  Eph. 4:29-32 NET

In the middle of this passage are the words, “And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, …”  These words are surrounded by admonitions as to how to and how not to use our tongues.  I am sure that any sin we commit grieves the Spirit, but since our words are a view to what is in our hearts Paul instructs us to be careful with our tongues.  Pray with us that we will have pure hearts that produce beneficial and edifying speech to those around us.

Today, Moriah is home sick with a fever.  I, John, am home with her.  Please pray that her fever goes away quickly.  Several in her class have been sick this past week.  Some were sick only a day while others for a few.  Please pray that the rest of us stay well also.

We are going to begin referring to His Hands as Taiwan Xi En, which is its actual name.  The name words Xi and En are hope and grace.  The ministry desire to bring hope and grace into the lives of those the ministry serves.  Today is a big day for Taiwan Xi En.  This is the day for the spring board and general meeting.  Today is also the grand opening of a 2nd hand store that the ministry is going to be running in order to give the mom’s a place to work and to have some income for the moms’ side of the ministry.  This evening there will also be a presentation made to one of the supporting churches.  It is certainly a full day.  Continue to pray for the whole ministry of Taiwan Xi En as they try to bring hope and grace to moms, babies, and adoptive families.

Dave and Jeanay Stiles are in their last few days of home assignment.  They will be flying out of Seattle on March 27th.  Pray for their family as they return as well as for their safety during travel.

John is now leading 5 different groups.  They range from discipleship of older Christians to evangelism of people that have very little knowledge of God’s Word.  Four of these groups are weekly, while one is twice a month.  Pray for him as he prepares for each of these different groups.

Thank you, thank you for praying daily for us.

God Bless,

John & Cheryl
