Godly leaders are so important to the life of a congregation of believers. During Micah’s time it was hard to find a good leader. They were corrupt. They were prideful and sought to better themselves instead of glorify God through serving the people. One of the goals that we are working towards is to develop godly leaders for the Good News & Eternal Light congregations. A week from this Sunday John will be starting to lead the discipleship group again at Good News. He hopes that this will bring about the development of new leaders at Good News. He plans, as well, to work with Paul Pan to develop a similar plan for leadership development at Eternal Light as well. Please pray that God will direct His people to take up the challenge to make disciples.
This past Wednesday, Bethany had surgery to remove her gall bladder. She is recovering very well at home. One of her good friends from high school is there for a week to help. Kathy-Lu, Philip’s mom, will be going to visit and help this coming week as well. We thank God for providing Bethany with so many people to help at this time.
Dana & Chris McCain, our field coordinators, were here in Kaohsiung for a week encouraging and challenging us as individuals and as a team. They draw upon their past experience as missionaries to help us as we seek to honor God through our church planting and compassion ministries. Praise God with us for their wisdom.
This coming Friday David & Noah Atkin along with two Taiwanese friends, Luey & Andy, leave Taiwan to begin Gloritrek. They are riding across the US from LA to New York in order to raise awareness in churches about the remaining 7,000 unreached people groups. You can read their blog to learn about their vision, as well as their planned route, at www.gloritrek.com . Pray that God will prepare their way by opening the hearts of many people to receive their message.
