Dear Family & Friends,
“I absolutely despise your festivals! I get no pleasure from your religious assemblies! Even if you offer me burnt and grain offerings, I will not be satisfied; I will not look with favor on your peace offerings of fattened calves. Take away from me your noisy songs; I don’t want to hear the music of your stringed instruments. Justice must flow like torrents of water, righteous actions like a stream that never dries up. …” Amos 5:21-24 NET
God spoke through the prophet Amos a great condemnation on any and all of Israel’s worship. This condemnation came because they did not live daily as just and righteous people. They did not live as a representation of God’s grace, mercy, justice, and righteousness before the people around them. God would not nor could not accept their worship. Pray with us that we will live just and righteous lives before the people around us that God might be glorified by our lives and our worship.
We are praising God that Taiwan Xi En and the Home of God’s Love have received some clarity from the government as to how they can work together to provide adoptions for the babies Taiwan Xi En has in their care.
John will start back to leading his different storying and Bible study groups this week. Please pray that everyone will be anxious to begin again and that John will be lead by the Spirit.
John did return home safely after being in Canada and the US for a little over two weeks. He truly enjoyed seeing Philip, Bethany, & their girls. It was a blessing to be present at his nephew’s wedding and to visit with several relatives. Thank you to Christ’s Church of Effingham for helping to make his trip possible.
We just received word that Janet Shaw, the wife of Wayne Shaw former Dean of the Lincoln Christian Seminary, is having heart issues. Pray that God would heal her and comfort her and the family.
