Dear Family & Friends,
“Finally, be strengthened in the Lord and in the strength of his power. Clothe yourselves with the full armor of God so that you may be able to stand against the schemes of the devil. For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, …” Eph. 6:10-12a
While the battle rages within us to defeat a thought or fear it is somewhat easier to remember that we battle against satan and his henchmen. When someone sins directly against us or we see a “great evil” such as human trafficking, we often put faces to battle. It is then harder to remember that these people are not really the enemy we fight against, but satan is. When studying this passage with Fu Hai this week it became obvious that he has trouble in this area. Pray this week for Fu Hai to learn to pray for those that seem to make life more difficult for him. Pray that we all will learn to pray for the salvation of those that seem to stand against us.
Eugene & Tina Tsai, who had been our co-workers for several years, started working with another church about six months ago. They called and asked that we attend worship with them today. Cheryl has obligations at Eternal Light today, so only John is going. Pray for the ministry of this congregation as Eugene and Tina work with the leadership to shine a light in their community.
Sports and English Camp is just about six weeks away. We ask that you help us prepare by praying for all of the staff and all of the campers. We have 143 campers from all over the island, 2/3 of whom are not Christians yet! Please pray for their salvation. Pray that the 1/3 who are Christians will desire to help lead their peers to Christ. Our staff is a diverse group that comes from the US and Taiwan. Pray that we have one heart and mind to honor Christ through our ministry to these youth.
We are excited that Joy Martin, our summer intern, has arrived. She is ready to get to work serving people here in Taiwan. Pray for Joy as she makes the adjustments to being half-way around the world from her home. We’ll be putting her to work tomorrow in the nursery at Taiwan Xi En.
This summer Taiwan Xi En is going to be missing their director and two other dedicated volunteers. This will present some challenges for scheduling in the nursery and other ministry items. Pray that God provides the needed help to accomplish all that needs to be done this summer. Pray as well for the government inspection at the Home of God’s Love on June 14th.
