June 23, 2013 Prayer Note

Dear Family & Friends,

“Now as Jesus was passing by, he saw a man who had been blind from birth.  His disciples asked him, ‘Rabbi, who committed the sin that caused him to be born blind, this man or his parents?’  Jesus answered, “Neither this man nor his parents sinned, but he was born blind so that the acts of God may be revealed through what happens to him.”  John 9:1-3 NET

What would happen if we all took this attitude about the difficult and good that happens to us in this life?  If we were always looking for God’s glorious acts and wonders to be worked out in our lives, our perspective on life, and therefore our witness, would be so much different.  We would quit looking for someone to blame and instead start praying for God’s mighty hand to be seen by everyone around us.  We would become willing servants and vessels of the King desiring for Him to be honored through us.  John will be teaching on this passage at the Good News congregation this morning and will teach on it again Tuesday morning in the English Bible storying group.  Please pray that we all become willing servants of the King.

Please pray for one the little boys at Taiwan Xi En.  He has two holes in his heart that need to be repaired and therefore, will require surgery in the upcoming days or months.  He is now on medication to help his condition and Cheryl will take him to the hospital on Monday to be reevaluated .  The doctors hope the medicine will allow them to wait until he is a little bigger to perform surgery.  He is six weeks  old right now.

Sports and English camp is about three weeks away.  Please lift up the campers and faculty in your prayers daily as we prepare for a week of evangelism, discipleship training, and fun.  We have a group of eight coming from the Newton Central CC in Newton, IL.  Please pray for them as they prepare to come and serve.

Jocelyn Wu is involved in helping to lead two of the Bible storying groups that John is presently leading.  She is always looking for opportunities to share the gospel.  She recently had to two reasons to celebrate.  One, her mother was baptized last Sunday morning.  Two, one of her friends to whom she has been witnessing for a long time was willing to pray with her.  Her son has become a Christian, and she is considering that it as well.  Praise the Lord!

Thank you for your love of the Kingdom.

God Bless,

John & Cheryl
