July 6, 2014 Prayer Note

Dear Family & Friends,

“Don’t you say, ‘There are four more months and then comes the harvest?’ I tell you, look up and see that the fields are already white for harvest!  The one who reaps receives pay and gathers fruit for eternal life, so that the one who sows and the one who reaps can rejoice together.”  John 4:35-36

We have recently been able to watch the harvest of wheat in southern IL.  It is something that we enjoy watching as we travel.  It reminds us of the masses that have yet to be brought to a saving knowledge of Jesus, but whose hearts are ready to hear and receive the words of life.  You do not know how close a person may be to accepting Christ, so take advantage of each opportunity.  Pray that God will open all of our eyes to see the harvest that is before us.

This past week we served at Oil Belt Christian Service Camp.  We were blessed greatly by the campers, faculty, and staff.  There were three baptized and several others who wanted to make decisions for Christ.  Pray for these youth as they continue learning to be disciples of Christ.

The annual Sports & English camp in Taiwan begins next Sunday afternoon.  Please pray for the 144 campers that will attend as well as the 50 faculty, some of which will be traveling from the US this week.  Pray that God will open the eyes of the youth to the truth of scripture.  Pray as well that they will take up the challenge to win their generation to Christ.

Ellinor is doing well while we are here in the US.  She has a court date on July 18th.  Pray that her birth parents will appear in court and that the judge will press forward with her case.

We have enjoyed visiting with several churches, family members, and friends this summer.  God has blessed us with safety as we travel, and those we visit have blessed us in many ways, too.  Thank you!

Thank you for your prayers!

God Bless,

John & Cheryl
