|Matthew 1:23 “The virgin will be with child and will give birth to a son, and they will call Him Immanuel, which means, “God with us.”"Throughout the Gospel of Matthew, the author constantly refers to the fulfilled prophesies of Jesus. One of them is that He will be God with us. Who is us in this case? It’s very possible that the Jews considered “us” to be the Jews of Israel. But God had a much bigger plan. Us means “all the nations of the world.” Are your plans as big as God’s?
Pray that our plans will be as big as the God who sent His Son to Israel 2,000 years ago.

“Tayart, help me with this valve!” Siwa’ muscles glistened in the hot Sahara sun as he strained to turn the last valve in the new system he had built to irrigate his arid land. Tayart leveraged the effort with his walking stick and finally the valve burst forth its fountain of cool water, filling ditches and small ponds pre-dug as holding basins. There would be crops in this treeless desert. Tayart and Siwa cheered and laughed as they splashed in the precious water from the nearby oasis.
As Mozabite farmers, tucked away from the world in seven oases in the burning Sahara Desert, Tayart and Siwa are considered the purest of the pre-Arab area people. They have not mixed with Berber Sunnis or other neighbors for over 1,000 years. Tayart and Siwa practice in a rather disinterested way the Ibadi form of Islam, and so they are persecuted and subjugated by the mainstream Sunni Muslims. Over the last 20 years they have had to fight hooded Arab youths who steal, kill, and burn their homes with gasoline bombs.
Pray for Christ’s ambassadors to go to this unreached and remote people to deliver the gospel of Jesus Christ. Pray that the veil of unbelief will be removed from their spiritual eyes and the truth of the living water, which Jesus wants to flood their souls, will burst forth into their land. Pray that the Holy Spirit will reveal Jesus and reap a harvest of souls from the midst of the Mozabite’s spiritual desert.
