It’s the Little Things
Dear Friends,
We all know that the little things in life can sometimes make a big difference. Things like a warm smile, a caring hug, a generous tip, and a common courtesy. In our clinic this month we have been blessed this month with a little change that is making a big difference for all of us.
One of our volunteers noted that our four filing cabinets were all ridiculously crowded. We were out of room for our patients’ medical charts and the situation was getting worse every day as we continually added new patients to our clinic. So she asked me if it would be okay if her husband and her father-in-law built us a chart wall. Don’t you love it when your spouse volunteers your services -(haha)?  Well, I talked with her father-in-law, who is also a patient at our clinic. He told me that he felt a huge debt of gratitude for the help he was receiving from our clinic and that he would be happy to build that wall – and he did! For all of us who had been fighting with the heavy and packed-to-the max filing cabinet drawers the chart wall (pictured below) is one of those little things that is making a big difference for us.

Update on “Gladys”
“And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose” (Romans 8:28).
Last month I told you how thrilled “Gladys” was that we had been able to schedule her for surgery. Well, instead of tears of joy, there were of frustration when she came to the clinic for a mandatory EKG of her heart a few days before her scheduled surgery. She didn’t pass the EKG and we had to refer her to a cardiologist. We were hoping he would be able to give her the green light for her surgery, but alas, he was not able and we had to postpone her surgery for her fistula which had been plaguing her months. However, the cardiologist found severe blockage of her arteries and she is going in next week for heart bypass surgery. They are helping her with the expenses via a generous foundation – and we’ll be able to reschedule the other surgery soon. So, God was watching out for her and she’s getting help for the life-threatening condition we didn’t know she had. This is a perfect example of Romans 8:28 in the life of a believer. We are thankful for another month of ministry and the opportunity to serve hundreds in the name of the Great Physician, Jesus.

Abbey – MVP!
Little Abbey (our 13 years old) has spent most of her life tagging along with her big sister and enduring long days at volleyball practices, games and tournaments. Now, it’s her turn to be the player and all that time watching the big girls play helped her become a wonderful player. This month she was voted a Most Valuable Player at the tournament by the organizers and her team took home the second place medal in the tourney. We’re happy for her and looking forward to lots more volleyball in the next few years.

Financial Recap
Friends,
Thank you for your generous support of our ministry with Team Expansion and Mercy Medical Clinic. We are grateful for the opportunity to serve God in ministry during this season of our lives and enjoying His provision each month. We did finish the month with a deficit in our ministry account  of $982. We will be seeking some extra support in the next few weeks to help us get back in to black numbers. If you would like to receive a complete financial report and/or would like to help us by sending a tax-deductible contribtution please let me know.

Thanks so much for your support, prayers and encouragement! We are so grateful for each of you.

May God bless you!
