Every Christian has a part to play in the fulfilling this Great Commission, but sometimes, it’s hard to know where to start. If you aren’t already making disciples right where you are, moving overseas probably won’t change that. That’s why D-Course fully immerses you into disciple-making, right here in the US, preparing you for whichever field God calls you to.
At Team Expansion, we’ve been training and equipping missionaries for over 40 years. We’ve learned that the best missionaries and disciple-makers have trained the head, the heart, and the hands. During your 12-month D-Course training you will grow in each of these areas.
- The Head: formal, classroom, theory
- The Heart: informal, community, spiritual
- The Hands: non-formal, on-the-job, practical

The total course fees are $2350 plus your monthly living expenses (approximately $1500 – $3000) for rent, utilities, food, insurance, and transportation. Approved applicants can raise needed funds to help with expenses.

What does the program actually consist of?
D-Course utilizes a combination of community living, classroom and online sessions, interaction with veteran coaches and mentors, and cross-cultural implementation of ministry skills. A typical day of D-Course includes:
- 1 hour of corporate prayer
- 3 hours of classroom, online videos, completing assignments
- 3 – 4 hours of ministry implementation
- 1 – 2 hours of preparation
D-Course covers topics including Old & New Testament survey, intercessory prayer, spiritual warfare, praise/worship, contextualization, church planting, language acquisition, team dynamics, discerning God’s will, spiritual gifts, evangelism, cultural adaptation, discipleship, storytelling, oral communication, world religions, community development, tent-making (BAM), support raising, and more.
While we are learning about the Bible and the best mission theories and principles, participants will be going out and sharing the love of Christ daily.

Who leads D-Course?
The D-Course is led by a team of coaches, mentors, and facilitators who lead by example and share from their experiences. The leaders serve as Team Expansion missionaries, trainers, mentors, and coaches.
Do I have to be single? Do I have to be married? Can I have kids?
No restrictions in this regard. We have had single guys, single ladies, married couples, and yes, parents take it too.
