Dad’s Surgery

As I write my dad is at the cardiologists being assessed for surgery. He has a heart arrhythmia and has to have certification from a cardiologist before the hospital will allow surgery. The certification he had earlier in the year for carotid artery surgery has expired so his surgery, scheduled for today, had to be postponed. Looks like he will have the second carotid artery done sometime after the first of the year. Thanks for your prayers and we will let you know the new surgery date.
Merry Christmas.

It is Finished!

It was ambitious.
It took a lot of hours.
We will be tasting envelope gum for days.
But, IT IS FINISHED.
Now we will see what God does through this effort.
375 letters have been mailed. 275 include an appeal for financial partners to join our ministry.
Thanks for your prayers.

Please join us in prayer for a major fund raising effort we launch this weekend. 300 letters are being sent. Please ask God to bless the hearts of those who receive the letter and release His resources in their care.

Here are a few new family and personal photos.

Love to all.

Happy Thanksgiving

We hope you had a fantastic Thanksgiving. We traveled a good bit but it was worth it. We picked up my mom and enjoyed having her at our house one night. Then we all (Russ and Ryan included) traveled to my sister’s house for two nights. We arrived back home Friday afternoon and we look forward to having Russ with us for one night.

Here’s mom and Missy doing what they can do like NO ONE else. Just look at me and you will see how good they can cook!

Please keep my dad in your prayers. He has surgery scheduled Dec. 8th. This is for the second carotid artery. Please pray that it goes as well as the first side.

Many blessings.
Tim

Snow

Thursday November 20th at 5 PM and it is SNOWING HARD!
Burrrrrrrrr.

Facebook

Ok, so I am trying to get a handle on this Facebook thing. Lots of requests for friendship and it is exciting, but hard for me to keep-up with it all. So, don’t get disapointed if I don’t join all the groups. It is fun though.

Birthday keeps on going

In Daphne’s words, “The birthday just keeps on going.” That was her reply when she received a second call from New Zealand with a birthday wish. It has been a great blessings to here from these friends. And really cool to hear thier accents again.

A Long Awaited Harp

Tim, Russ, Ryan and Poppy (Tim’s dad) all conspired to surprise Daphne with a Celtic Harp as a birthday present. The harp did not arrive on her birthday (don’t get me started about the music store who promised to deliver in time), but it finally arrived today. And, she was very surpirsed. It is something she has wished for and never thought she’d have.
I will try my very best to call her a harpist and not a harpy. And, I am sure before long I will get to enjoy beautiful harp music in my own living room.

Launch and Beyond

We had a great week of training with 16 new mission candidates. They are headed many places around the world to serve as missionaries.
Today (Oct. 18) we were able to relax and recoup from a full week while also celebrating Daphne’s birthday.
She is in heaven right now because her dear friends from New Zealand just called to say happy birthday.

First Trip to Wisconsin

Daphne and I enjoyed a great trip to Kenosha, WI this weekend. The purpose of the trip was to presnet a mission seminar at First Christian Church. We enjoyed thier hospitality, the beautiful lake front and especially getting to know thier mission team.
The trip also allowed us to visit some of Daphne’s family in Michigan City, IN.
We are looking forward to a great week of Launch beginning October 11. It is one of the small ways we remain involved at the International Services office.
