Dear Family & Friends,
Then Jesus said to his disciples, “Whoever wants to be my disciple must deny themselves and take up their cross and follow me. For whoever wants to save their life will lose it, but whoever loses their life for me will find it.” Matt. 16:24-25
The problem that most of us have with following Jesus, really following Jesus, is self-denial. We like to be kind to people, to help those that are have lost their homes from a storm or fire, etc… What we don’t want to do is change our way of living so as to serve as He did. He denied himself comfort, position, and life in order to give us eternal life. Can we not consider to change our lifestyle so as to serve, that others may have a chance to hear the gospel. Please pray with me that Christians everywhere will truly follow Jesus, no matter the cost.
Please pray with us for the adoption process for Isaiah, Malachi Michael’s big brother. The judge in Taiwan is asking the social worker to find the birth mother to get her permission to proceed with an international adoption. Finding her could be difficult. Please pray that God will intervene so that the adoption can proceed as quickly as possible.
There are many good things happening in Taiwan with our teams of missionaries and churches. The Taiwan Christian Church in Taipei is preparing for the start of several house or simple churches. The Come Christian Church in Taichung is doing the same. The team in Feng Yuan has several groups that are in the process of becoming simple churches. The Good News and Eternal Light congregations are not as far along, but there are some things happening that could prove positive for the growth of the kingdom. Please pray for all these works.
We are grateful for the blessing of having good supporters. Our bank balance has come up quite a bit in the past two months. This is good because we have several expenses coming up. One is that our van’s transmission needs to be rebuilt. Two is that Andrew may have his tonsils taken out this spring. Third is paying for Andrew & Moriah’s fall tuition. There will also be expenses with our travel back to Taiwan, as well as expenses once we get on island after being gone for a year. Please pray for us as we try to be good stewards.
