May 20, 2012 Prayer Note

Dear Family and Friends,

“But the wisdom that comes from heaven is first of all pure; then peace-loving, considerate, submissive, full of mercy and good fruit, impartial and sincere. Peacemakers who sow in peace reap a harvest of righteousness.”  James 3:17-18 NIV

Wow!  God’s wisdom is so great that it encompasses everything we need.  Think about how much of our lives are built upon relationships with others, including our God.  Then look at these two verses in James.  Just think what it would be like if we took the time to seek God’s wisdom about how to relate to others.  We could head-off many arguments and disagreements just by having an attitude that was directed by God’s wondrous wisdom.  Please pray for us as we try to apply God’s wisdom in our daily living.  Pray specifically today as John meets with the leadership of the Good News congregation.

We are busy washing our clothes that were left here in Taiwan, cleaning the wardrobes and chests of drawers and other things that have not be moved or used for a year, which allows mold and mildew to set in.  We have also already completed our yearly paperwork that allows us to stay in Taiwan, but also have insurance, taxes, school bills and other items such as this to deal with.  We are also making lists of things to do and purchase.  Ask us in about two weeks if we are settled in or not.  Thank you for praying for us as we adjust back into life here in Taiwan.

The day before we returned to Taiwan, Chris and Samantha moved out of our place into a place of their own.  They still need to purchase appliances and other necessities it takes to set up a home.  Please pray for them as they once again transition into a new place with a 3 month old.  I’m sure they are very glad to be setting up their own home, but this comes with some stressful times as well.

Please pray for John’s aunt, Marjorie Cardwell, as she recovers from hip replacement surgery.  She is home and doing well.

We appreciate so much the prayers that were said for us as we traveled here to Taiwan.  Everything went very smoothly.  We also so grateful for everyone that helped us get on our way.  Our parents took us to the airport.  People at Parkview C.C. are taking care of the house we lived in and returning all the things that we loaned to us to use.  Thank you!

Please continue to pray that our 2000 Honda Odyssey and 2002 Buick Park Avenue will both sell soon.

Thanks for praying.

God Bless,

John & Cheryl
