Dear Family & Friends,
“Be alert and of sober mind. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour. Resist him, standing firm in the faith, because you know that the family of believers throughout the world is undergoing the same kind of sufferings.”
I Peter 5:8-9
Life is hard at times. At particular times we receive word that a friend somewhere is undergoing hardship. Sometimes it is health related. Other times it has to do with relationships. It could be economic in nature as well. It does not matter, for in each situation we have the opportunity to glorify God or to be devoured by the devil. We want to encourage you this week to be alert to what the devil might be using to bring about discouragement and eventually sin in your life. When you recognize where he is at work, take that matter to God in prayer immediately, and also share it with a fellow believer. In this way, we can stand firm together. Please pray that we practice what we preach.
Several of us that work together in the His Hands ministry will be in training this week on relationship building. The training will be from Tuesday until Friday. Please pray that this training will provide us all with better relationship skills to use in our ministries.
This past week a dear friend, Phyllis Watkins, had an aneurism leak on her brain. She was taken into surgery to remove a blood clot and repair the blood vessel. She has done well since the surgery, but there is still a chance that she could have a stroke. Please pray for Phyllis to continue to heal and for the family as they support her.
Thank you for praying that our vehicles would sell. The Buick sold this past week. The van is still available. Please pray that we can sell it soon. We are also finding the market over here for good used vans is expensive. Please pray that we find the proper vehicle at a good price.
Jeff & Michelle Michael will be traveling this Wednesday and Thursday to Taiwan in order to pick-up their adoptive son Isaiah! Isaiah is 3 1/2 years old and is Malachi’s biological, older brother. He also has no English background whatsoever. Please pray for their safety as they travel. Pray as well for the transition that Isaiah must make from his foster family to the Michael family, and that God will give Jeff and Michelle absolutely everything they need as they bring their new son into their home and care.
Thank you for praying.
God Bless,
John & Cheryl
