Dear Family & Friends,
“But we have this treasure in clay jars, so that the extraordinary power belongs to God and does not come from us. We are experiencing trouble on every side, but are not crushed; we are perplexed, but not driven to despair; we are persecuted, but not abandoned; we are knocked down, but not destroyed, 10always carrying around in our body the death of Jesus, so that the life of Jesus may also be made visible in our body.” II Cor. 4:7-10
We come to you today with several prayer requests. Many of these are health related. Some of them are very much weighing on us. We do covet your prayers as we live by faith and believe such scriptures as Paul wrote to the Corinthian Church.
Our precious co-worker Samantha Sanford went to the doctor for tests this past week and was referred to an oncologist. She is to have a CT scan this afternoon. She will probably have a diagnosis this Saturday. It is possible that she has other health issues as well. Please pray for her husband Chris and their four children as well.
John’s Aunt, Marjorie Cardwell, is in the hospital for treatment for a tumor in her abdomen. She has had some additional issues as well. Please pray for her and the family.
John’s mom, Judy, had foot surgery and is at home recuperating. She is doing well. Please pray that she has little discomfort and does not develop an infection.
The coronavirus is impacting our lives & ministry in many ways. First, the Taiwanese schools are closed for two weeks, therefore all the children at THoGL are home for two additional weeks. This puts a additional stress on the staff. Second, because the schools are closed now, the second semester of school will be extended in to the second week of July affecting our S&E Camp. Third, as Moriah was flying to the Philippines a ban was placed on visitors from Taiwan. She and her ball team have been in the airport for about 12 ours. They are still waiting to be allowed to return to Taiwan. Please pray for God to give us all wisdom as we deal with the restrictions placed on everyone because of the virus. There are other smaller issues as well.
On a positive note, John was asked by a local young Christian man to train him how to evangelize. PTL! Please join us in praising God for this young man, Solomon.
Please pray for our family as we have other items of concern as well. Some we cannot mention here. Please pray as we make future plans with Andrew & Moriah.
God Bless,
John & Cheryl
