April 8, 2012 Prayer Note

Dear Family and Friends,

“Give, and it will be given to you: A good measure, pressed down, shaken together, running over, will be poured into your lap. For the measure you use will be the measure you receive.”  Luke 6:38

We all know that we should be a bless to others by giving to those in need, and through our tithes and offerings.  There are questions though, that tend to often limit our giving and therefore, our blessing.  How much should we give?  To whom should we give?  When should we give? People use different scriptures and reasoning to come up with an answer.  Jesus’s teaching here causes me to reason that the answers to these questions are not as important as choosing to give.  We should give to those who have a need as long as we have means to help.  Will you pray with me that we will exemplify a giving spirit among the Taiwanese as we give, serve, and rejoice in the blessings.

Next week, both the Good News & Eternal Light congregations are having special services.  Please pray that those who have been invited will attend.  Please pray as well that the message of the redemption through the cross of Christ will be proclaimed clearly.

Tomorrow, Monday, Andrew will be having his tonsils and adenoids removed.  Please pray for the doctor and nurses as they perform their tasks during the surgery.  Please pray for Andrew to recover quickly and fully.

Thank you for praying for Allison Snyder as she has had complications following her back surgery.  She is at home doing well.  Please pray for Cheryl’s aunt, Marilyn Smithpeters, as she goes to see another specialist concerning her cancer.  Please pray for Dean Elmore as he is scheduled for a heart catheterization on April 9th.

We enjoyed visiting with family and watching the production of “Hello Dolly” by the students at Johnson University.  Nathanael was the director.  Nathanael has enjoyed his time at Johnson, but is looking forward to having a place to serve.  He is hoping to work for a radio and television ministry in Taiwan.  He should receive news soon.  Please pray for him as he prepares to graduate and seeks employment and a place to serve.

Our time in the States is coming to a swift close.  We will fly out from Indianapolis on May 9th.  Please pray for us as we have many things to accomplish between now and then.  One order of business is to sell our vehicles.  We have a 2000 Honda Odyssey and a 2002 Buick Park Avenue.  If you are interested in either of these vehicles please call us at 618-553-5175.

We are grateful for your prayers.

God Bless,

John & Cheryl
