Dear Family & Friends,
And the Lord God said, “Who told you that you were naked? Did you eat from the tree that I commanded you not to eat from?” … But to Adam he said, “Because you obeyed your wife and ate from the tree about which I commanded you, ‘You must not eat from it,’ cursed is the ground thanks to you; in painful toil you will eat of it all the days of your life. NET Genesis 3:11, 17
So much of our problems in life go back to our choosing to obey someone else rather than God. We notice in the passage above that God makes it clear that Adam broke the command that He, God, had given. He also makes it clear that Adam chose to obey someone else, in this case, his wife. Our own choices make such a great difference in our lives. We can either choose to obey God and be blessed because of that obedience or choose to disobey and receive the curse of our sin. Pray with us that we will live in obedience to our God. Pray as well that this principle will come through in our teaching.
Next week Eternal Light congregation is having their outdoor worship/evangelistic activity. Pray that there will be a great witness seen by all those who are not yet Christians.
We are so grateful that Cheryl is back safe and sound in Taiwan. We are also grateful that Cheryl was able to go help Bethany and Philip with the girls for the past month. Please continue to pray for them as they raise their precious girls.
John will be speaking at the Kaohsiung International Church this afternoon. He is filling in for Dave Stiles while Dave and Jeanay are in the States. Please pray that God is glorified through this time of worship.
John has been asked to begin a lunch time study with a group of people at a company in Kaohsiung. He will probably begin on March 13th. He plans to use the Bible Storying method with them as well. Please pray for a good beginning of this new group.
