Dear Family & Friends,
“In Christ we too have been claimed as God’s own possession, since we were predestined according to the one purpose of him who accomplishes all things according to the counsel of his will so that we, who were the first to set our hope on Christ, would be to the praise of his glory. And when you heard the word of truth (the gospel of your salvation) – when you believed in Christ– you were marked with the seal of the promised Holy Spirit, who is the down payment of our inheritance, until the redemption of God’s own possession, to the praise of his glory.”
God has created us all for His purpose and His desire. He has created us to bring glory to His name. Our lives should be lived so that He is honored everyday. This week Dave & Noah Atkin, as well as two Taiwanese friends, set-off on Gloritrek. They are riding across the US on bikes stopping at churches along the way reminding them of Christ’s command to go to all peoples with the good news of salvation. They are especially emphasizing the need to finish the task of taking the gospel to those groups that are least reached where there is very little or no work being done in their language, or the response has been very small. Please pray for Gloritrek as they begin this weekend sharing at Christ Church at Griffin Park in Burbank, CA. You can follow their progress at www.gloritrek.com.
The situation with international adoptions in Taiwan seems to be in a state of flux. We think that things are set to go, and then we hear more from the government. Right now everything is on hold until after The Home of God’s Love has an inspection next month. Two social workers with a college degree in social work need to be hired to handle the adoption paper work at The Home of God’s Love and Taiwan Xi En in order to be in compliance with the new regulations. Pray with us about the inspection and the hiring of the social workers.
We have a little guy from Taiwan Xi En in the hospital with pneumonia. Pray that he will start getting better soon.
Pray for Mindy in the Tuesday English Bible storytelling group. She is growing in faith, but has some struggles still with family issues and with having first studied the Bible with the Jehovah’s Witnesses. John needs to share the truth in a way that shows the problems with their views on Jesus, while being sensitive to her feelings of friendship with these people.
