August 14, 2016 Prayer Note

Dear Family & Friends,

“Like obedient children, do not comply with the evil urges you used to follow in your ignorance, but, like the Holy One who called you, become holy yourselves in all of your conduct, for it is written, ‘You shall be holy, because I am holy.’”  I Peter 1:14-16

God’s Word continually points to the fact that so much of my life should be based upon my obedient relationship to God as my father.  This passage is calling me to choose to live a holy life by choice.  It is not specifically referring to the holiness that is placed upon us at salvation.  It referring to my daily choices.  Am I seen as living a life that is holy by those who watch me?  My motivation to make holy choices is that God, my father, is holy.  I choose to live a holy life because of my desire to be like Him and to please Him.  Join us in praying to live so that people know whose child we are.

The Home of God’s Love underwent an inspection in July dealing largely with the paperwork process, files, and staff.  Just this past week the home went through another inspection that included facilities as well as other elements.  We hope to hear the results of the first inspection by the end of August.  Join us in praying for the results of these two inspections to be favorable.  We also ask that you pray for the home to be able to hire the needed staff to satisfy the government as well.

Our team is seeking direction from God and looking for opportunities to minister in the coming months.  We will seeking opportunities with schools to use our Discovery English Studio videos.  We also continue to seek out key disciples that we will invest time and effort for them to become effective disciple makers.

Thank you for praying for our family as we transitioned back to Taiwan.  Andrew & Moriah are both playing sports again.  Moriah is getting used to being in high school.  Thank you for praying for Cheryl’s eye that has been affected by uveitis.  Her treatment is almost finished and is healing well.  We continue to pray that her eyesight will not be affected at all.

Thank you for your prayers.

God Bless,

John
