Dear Family & Friends,
“The fear of people becomes a snare, but whoever trusts in the Lord will be set on high.” Proverbs 29:25
How many times have you been held hostage or captive by the fear of what someone else might think or do if you share your faith, or act on your faith? It happens to us far too often. We miss out on many blessings by caring too much what people think. We also limit the amount of Glory receives from our lives by not trusting in God. He has acted in the past showing His faithfulness to those that serve Him. His promises are true. His power is unlimited. What causes us to fear people? Join us in praying for the faith to trust in the Lord and be free of the bounds of fear as we enjoy the protection of the Lord.
Two of the high school seniors at THoGL took entrance exams this weekend. They have yet to decide whether they will go to college or not, or where they will go to school if they test well enough. The other senior is going to school in Hualien in the fall. We will take her and her sister to meet some missionaries that have an outreach at her school next Sunday. Please pray for all three of the seniors as they move into a new phase of life.
THoGL continues to seek workers. Caretakers for infants and for children 2-12 years of age are needed. A social worker and a lead social worker for those taking care of the foster care program are both needed. We ask that you pray earnestly that God would provide Christians to fill these roles.
We are preparing for a Stand for Life event on the 15th of June as well as a reunion for adoptive families that will be the following week. We hope these events will have a positive impact on the view of adoption in Taiwan. Please pray that Taiwanese Christians will take a stand for life and choose to adopt.
Mr. Zhou continues to desire to learn more of God’s Word and to worship with fellow Christians. Please continue to lift Him up in prayer as he grows in Christ.
Andrew will be traveling from Virginia to Indiana this week in preparation for flying to Taiwan on the May 14. Please pray for his safety as he drives and flies.
Our co-worker Chris Sanford will be having surgery to remove his tonsils due to sleep apnea on May 15th. Please pray that he will be recuperate quickly as they will be going to the US on June 6th.
We are moving into a very busy season for us as summer approaches. We appreciate your prayers as we will be busy helping at THoGL, leading discipleship groups, assisting with the Stand for Life, preparing for S&E Camp, a team coming from Christ’s Church of Effingham and more.
Thank you for always keeping us in your prayers.
God Bless,
John
