Dear Family & Friends,
“Then Jesus called the crowd, along with his disciples, and said to them, ‘If anyone wants to become my follower, he must deny himself, take up his cross, and follow me. For whoever wants to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for my sake and for the gospel will save it. For what benefit is it for a person to gain the whole world, yet forfeit his life?’” Mark 9:34-36 NET
Wow! Once again I, John, come face to face with myself as I read this passage. Do I ever really deny myself? Do I make choices that are for the benefit of the Kingdom of God rather than myself. I believe there are a few times that I can say yes, but so often the answer is no. What is interesting is that when I have chosen to deny myself people are drawn to Christ, which is what I desire. Pray with us that we will choose to deny ourselves and draw people to Christ.
Next Sunday, February 24, our team is going to be having a joint team evangelistic activity. We are trying to share the gospel with people we know as often as we can in order to start new simple churches. We are also planning other activities to allow us opportunities to share the gospel with new people. This coming Sunday is the Kaohsiung Marathon. We are going to be on the route talking to people, passing out a gospel tract, giving out water.
Our teammates Chris and Sam Sanford recently has a miscarriage. They were very excited about having their second child. God has given them peace during this difficult time. Pray as they work through the grief.
Bao Gwei’s sister-in-law had surgery this past week and is doing well at this time. Her husband was not willing to meet with Paul and John last week. Please pray that he will allow us to meet with him soon.
