October 27, 2014 Prayer Note

Dear Family & Friends,

He has told you, O man, what is good, and what the Lord really wants from you:  He wants you to promote justice, to be faithful, and to live obediently before your God.  Micah 6:8 NET

Have you ever been asked something like, “What does a Christian do? or How is a Christian supposed to live?”  It is amazing how difficult we can make an explanation of the life of a disciple.  More than once in scripture it is summed up very succinctly.  We try to involve too much doctrine and try to explain the difficulty of actually living it out.  Yes, there is doctrine to believe and actually living obediently is difficult.  But, when someone asks how a Christian is to live a simple answer is all that is needed.  Actually, most questions asked by non-believers and young Christians only need simple answers coupled with living it out in front of them and with them.  Join us in prayer for the wisdom to rely on Christ for the answers to questions and the strength to be obedient.

Thank you for praying for Ellinor’s case.  We did hear last week that the court clerk had received the social worker’s report on the birth mom.  We do not know what it said or what will happen next.  The judge could rule on the adoption, therefore issuing a decree or there could be another court appearance.  We ask that you pray that the judge will issue a decree for the adoption to be finalized.  Ellinor so needs to be with her forever family!!

Please continue to pray for Ted Skiles.  Last week he went to see the doctor about a raised sore spot on his leg.  He is to see a specialist this week.  The doctor was concerned, but did not know what it was.  Please pray that it will clear up on its own, and that it is not a blood clot.

This Tuesday evening John will assist May Wu in starting a new group.  There will be 5 or 6 in attendance.  There are both young Christians and non-Christians in the group.  Pray for May as she leads this group.

This past weekend Moriah competed with her team in a volleyball tournament.  They played very well.  Well enough to win every match, therefore coming home with 1st place.  Congratulations to Moriah and team!!

Thank you for praying.

God Bless,

John & Cheryl
