November 2, 2014 Prayer Note

Dear Family & Friends,

“When the headwaiter tasted the water which had become wine, and did not know where it came from (but the servants who had drawn the water knew), the headwaiter called the bridegroom, and said to him, ‘Every man serves the good wine first, and when the people have drunk freely, then he serves the poorer wine; but you have kept the good wine until now.’  This beginning of His signs Jesus did in Cana of Galilee, and manifested His glory, and His disciples believed in Him.”  John 2:9-11  NASB

A new discipleship group started on Tuesday night.  Our introductory story was about Jesus turning the water to wine.  May Wu shared that the story reminded her that God always gives us what is best.  Jesus produced the best wine and gave it to the bride & bridegroom for their guests.  This allowed her to transition to how God everyday provides what we need, both spiritually and physically.  Later on we referred back to her comment and brought out how God had given us the best gift in Jesus.  We need to be continually grateful that God has given us His best.  We need to give Him our best as well.

May’s new group meets on Tuesday evening at her apartment building.  There were five ladies that came.  One is a young Christian that May had a part in bringing to the Lord.  Another is coming to faith, while the other three have very little knowledge of the Bible, God, or Jesus.  Please pray that all of these ladies will continue to come and will be changed by the Word of God.

A couple weeks ago we mentioned that was going to be an opportunity to start another discipleship group in a business.  The leader of the group will be Miss Tsai.  She and her husband own the business.  The group has yet to start due to people traveling and schedule issues.  Join us in prayer that everyone involved will choose to make the start of this group a priority.

Shu Jen’s husband, Mr. Wang, is back in the hospital.  He was only home for a few days when the growth got worse.  Please pray that through this their sons will come to Christ and that Mr. Wang will also regain His faith from childhood.

We ask that you be praying for two of the babies cared for by Taiwan Xi En.  They will both be having surgical procedures in the upcoming weeks.  These same two babies and two others are also having health evaluations to see if they are eligible to receive physical therapy at the Xi En home.  This will be a big time saver for those trying to get the babies to various doctor’s appointments and will be a huge help for our babies’ health needs.

This weekend we traveled again to Taichung to watch Andrew play in the high school JV soccer tournament.  They won one of their games and played very well.  We are grateful to enjoy our children and visit with friends.

Thank you so much for your prayers.

God Bless,

John & Cheryl
