By a Team Expansion
This month, we performed a baptism in one of the groups that are in formation. This group is led by Rami*, a leader with whom we have been working and sharing the Gospel in his community.
On one occasion, Rami shared with a man named Tarek, who heard the Gospel for the first time and was very interested, as he had some disappointment with Islam and also saw something different in Rami when he shared his testimony.
Later, Tarek found a Bible among the used books that a man was selling and bought it. After reading it, he had a dream where he went up to heaven and saw a very bright light that he felt was Jesus. He woke up still in amazement, and from that moment, he believed in Jesus as the son of God and decided to follow Him.
Sometime later, Tarek met again with Rami and told him that he wanted to become a follower of Jesus. It was then that Rami and I started doing Discovery Bible Studies with him. A week before his baptism, Tarek had another dream where he saw many people and someone from heaven dressed in white was shaking his hand. He felt that God was welcoming him in the middle of many people and he was very excited.
The day of his baptism was very special because after Rami baptized him and during the celebration of the Lord’s Supper Tarek felt the presence of the Holy Spirit and began to cry, giving infinite thanks to God for saving him.
Tarek also shared the experience of his baptism with his daughter and she is now very interested in reading the Bible. We praise God for Tarke’s baptism and pray for his family, that they will also come to know about Jesus and that this group will continue to grow.
