Believers from countries in the Middle East and North Africa have usually experienced some kind of rejection, isolation, or persecution. It’s difficult just to exist. Recently, a believer who works as a teacher in this region was on a coaching call with a leader from Team Expansion, and she was exploring ways to share the Gospel with her students, who are refugees from Sudan.
For this teacher, sharing Jesus with her students wasn’t just an idea she was considering, it was her duty. As a workplace professional, she knew that those were the people God had given her to influence for His Kingdom.
As she was talking, she remembered having a dream some time before. In the dream, there was a young student standing at a bus stop. On the sign at the stop, one arrow pointed to life and one pointed to death. This teacher realized that her students are at an important crossroad.
God is at a point of intervention in these refugees’ lives, where they are literally considering life and death decisions. She realized we have a duty as believers, but it’s not a burden. It’s a gift to walk with people at this important point in their lives!
