Verse 7 of the old hymn “For the Beauty of the Earth” goes like this:
“For the martyrs’ crown of light, for Thy prophets’ eagle eye;
For Thy bold confessors’ might, for the lips of infancy
Lord of all to Thee we raise, this our hymn of grateful praise.”
“Now I rejoice in my suffering for your sake, and in my flesh I am filling up what is lacking in Christ’s afflictions for the sake of the body, that is, the church.” (Colossians 1:24) Pray that believers worldwide would rejoice in their suffering for the sake of Christ. Pray that they might consider it a privilege to experience persecution so that the church might grow.
Ask God to create a dissatisfaction with animistic religion and prove that Jesus is more powerful and can provide release from fear and oppression. (More on The Final 58)
Jonah 2:8 says, “Those who cling to worthless idols forfeit the grace that could be theirs.”
Pray for Italians in Ancona not to pursue the false idols that the culture promotes but rather see God with all their hearts and find grace in Him.
