Fred is a construction worker in Brazil. He is also a follower of Jesus. After he trained in the fruitful practices of making disciples three years ago, he answered God’s prompting to take the Gospel to remote villages where the people had never heard about Jesus. In one village, he helped the local people build a community house, a restroom for the village chief, and a medical clinic. In view of his dedication and sacrifice, the village accepted him as their own. Four curious villagers began studying the Bible with Fred, and all of them chose to follow Jesus and be baptized! Those four people are the first in their village to ever hear and accept the Gospel!

In another village, Fred began discipling a farmer and his family a year ago. After walking through the Gospel with them steadily, Fred recently baptized the farmer, his wife, and one of their sons, with another son ready to step into obedience now, too!  They are also the first people in their people group to ever know and follow Jesus.

The roads to the villages where Fred does ministry are a mucky mess in the wet seasons and obstacles of ruts and valleys when it’s dry. Fred’s old truck, often used to transport supplies or carry villagers to the doctor when they’re infirm, is in sore need of replacement. Fred’s ministry would be blessed if he could replace his beat-up pickup with a 4-wheel drive truck.
