West Africa: Valor Team (pseudonym) —
Last fall, the Valor team (who work in a Muslim land) shared a big dream, matched only by the incredible challenge of their parched land, thirsty for hope and help. In their country, there are entire villages of up to 2,000 people without drinking water. But digging a well in these arid villages can cost upward of $10,000.
They wanted to help with wells, but the challenge was even bigger. They needed to be able to train and send out national workers. They wanted to be able to provide opportunities for local believers to make a living. And they wanted to bring fresh water and Living Water to the remote villages around them.
This led to the “Build the Base” campaign, where they hoped to raise over $180,000 for a training center, motorcycles, camels, chickens, wells, and more.
Many people accepted the challenge to accomplish this huge goal. We thank God that their combined efforts have now yielded an incredible answered prayer of $183,000, which completely underwrites the entire dream!
To date, the training center is finished and is already equipping and sending out workers. There are incubators full of chickens for locals to raise and literacy trainings and four wells have been created so far! They also have a baptistry, where they’re already seeing clean water and living water collide!
