The Wahhabi are seeking to purify and return Islam to its earliest roots. They see themselves as the great rule keepers of Islam. They are committed, zealous, and deeply religious. Their focus is on following Islamic teaching as literally as possible – and harshly judging any self-proclaimed Muslims who do not “measure up.” Jesus was challenged by officials with a similar motivation. Jesus said to the rule keepers, “You have heard that it was said…But I tell you…” Jesus made it clear that God is supremely more concerned with the condition of our hearts that with us religiously following a set of rules. How our hearts grieve for Wahhabis in their bondage to legalism, to pride, to elitism, to judgmentalism – even to anger, hatred, and violence! O great and loving Father, have mercy on Wahhabis all over the world! Call them to Yourself and set them free to walk with You in joy, love, and peace. Nothing is too big for You! Pray for these ethnic tribes living in remote villages in Laos to hear the Gospel and turn to Jesus: the Kuan, the Laopan, the Laoseng, the Lawi, the Maleng, the Mlabri and the Mon.

Pray for the people of Taiwan. Ask God to call laborers to go and share Christ with the people of Taiwan.
