M*, a young woman, lives with her ultra-conservative Yemeni family in Michigan while her husband is on an extended stay in Yemen. She recently showed up for her English class at a local Christian school with a large bruise on her forehead. She did not offer an explanation other than to say that her brother had bashed her head against the wall in their home. Several Christian workers are aware that this is not an isolated incident of spousal/familial abuse within the area’s large Arab Muslim population.

Loving Heavenly Father, we pray against the horrible abuse these dear women created in Your image are forced to endure. We pray, Lord Jesus, that You would come to them offering comfort and hope. We pray for the abusers, that the Holy Spirit would convict them of the horrendous sin they are committing, not only against these dear women, but also against the Living God in the name of a twisted ideology. Pray that they would confess and repent. Hear us, O Lord!

Pray for More Workers

“Then he said to his disciples, ‘The harvest is plentiful but the workers are few. Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into his harvest field.’” (Matt. 9:37-38)

Lord of the Harvest, thrust out more workers into Your harvest fields ripe for harvest. Send out Muslim background believers to make disciples among abusers. Through Your Spirit, cause a paradigm shift in this society.
