“The jailer rejoiced greatly that he had come to believe in God, together with his entire household.” (Acts 16:34)
South Asia has a “we” culture, and the Sylheti people are no exception. Every area of life is penetrated by “us” thinking. Decisions affect the whole family. Accomplishing tasks is done with a friend, brother, or cousin. Visiting is never done alone. Biblical culture was much closer to this “us” culture than our Western individualistic cultures, so it is not surprising how often we read in the book of Acts “he and his household.” God, we ask You to work among Sylheti people as You did in Acts, bringing whole households into Your Kingdom. We pray for kingdom workers from Western countries that serve the Sylhetis to grow in their understanding of community culture and the implications it has for ministry.
Team Expansion Worker
Join B and L in praying for their health teachers in Southeast Asia as they minister in local villages. Please pray for the continued success of a new hospital. Praise God for the staff who have happily joined in the work. Pray for endurance as the work is busy and challenging. Pray for solutions to the overcrowding they are already beginning to see.
Pray for More Workers
Father, we pray for more kingdom workers to serve the Sylheti people with cultural understanding to make disciples of entire households.
