Ten Days of Prayer for Ten Countries: Russia Prayer Fuel
Russia is the world’s largest country by land area, spanning six million square miles and eleven time zones. Russia contains both the largest Orthodox Christian population with their iconic cathedrals and many minority groups each with distinct languages, traditions, and religious practices. A deep cultural heritage included producing literary giants like Tolstoy, classical musical composer Tchaikovsky, and world-class ballet.
Russia has 180 UUPGs due to vast distance, extreme climates, and remote locations, making minority peoples particularly difficult to reach with the Gospel. Contributing are centuries of imperial expansion and Soviet suppression.
Father, we thank You for what You have done in Russia in the past and for what You are doing presently in Russia. We pray for spiritual awakening among believers. We ask Your Spirit to stir hearts in nominal Christians to move beyond tradition to a deep relationship with Jesus. We pray that Biblical authority would be transformational and lead to obedience and spiritual growth.
Team Expansion Worker
Give praise to God with JG (International Services) for all that was accomplished in 2025 through visiting, counseling, coaching, and calling teams. JG serves as Field Coordinator for several Team Expansion teams and returned earlier this month from visiting teams in Spain. Thank God with JG for God’s provision to continue serving in this capacity. Praise God that JG and his wife celebrated their twentieth wedding anniversary recently, and their three children are doing well in school.
Pray for More Workers
Lord of the Harvest, we ask You to thrust out believers compelled by Your love to reach Russia’s unreached peoples. We pray for Biblical resources to be available in the variety of languages and formats that would connect with the hearts and minds of everyone. Father God, raise up Godly men who will lead their families well. Pray for churches to provide solid Biblical teaching and resources that address deep societal needs and overcome systematic brokenness.
