YHWH YIREH, You are the one true God!
“You are the LORD, You alone. You have made heaven, the heaven of heavens, with all their host, the earth and all that is on it, the seas and all that is in them; and you preserve all of them; and the host of heaven worships you.” (Nehemiah 9:6)
Ten Days of Prayer for Ten Countries: Bangladesh Prayer Fuel
Bangladesh is the world’s ninth most densely populated nation, home to 175 million people. Known for their warm hospitality, family and community connections are an important part of Bangladeshi lifestyle. Rich in biodiversity and laying claim to the longest natural sea beach, Cox’s Bazar, the country attracts nature lovers and water sport enthusiasts. Fast Facts:
276 unreached people groups
Religious makeup: 90.4% Muslim, 8.4% Hindu, 0.6% Buddhist, 0.4% Christian, 0.1% ethnic religions, 0.1% other
Political climate: 2024 brought dramatic upheaval sending Prime Minister Muhammad Yunus into exile. An interim government is struggling to forge a stable coalition.
Weather challenges: monsoons flood 20%-60% of the country annually, displacing hundreds of thousands. Severe cyclones bring devastation about every three years to coastal communities.
Persecution: ranked twenty-fourth on World Watch list. Christianity is technically legal, but conversion from Islam triggers consequences like family rejection, employment discrimination, police harassment, mob violence, and intense social pressure.
Father, we pray for Bangladesh in its current political transition. We ask You to stir up a spiritual hunger. In this season of uncertainty, we ask You to draw people to Jesus through dreams, visions, and divine encounters.
We pray, Father, for protection, provision, and wisdom for long term solutions in the aftermath of natural disasters. We pray that believers will have resources and hearts to serve in crisis and act in love for opening doors to spiritual conversations.
Father, we pray for boldness for followers of Jesus facing family rejection, unemployment, and violence for their faith. Lord, strengthen their courage, provide their physical needs, and connect them with other believers for encouragement and spiritual growth.
Team Expansion Worker
Praise God with JED (International Services) for an eleven-day trip to West Africa and for the prayers that fueled it. Because of the Lord’s help, JED was able to visit brothers and sisters in various parts of West Africa. Please remember the precious friends and families met in meetings and trainings. Ask God to empower them to faithfully preach and teach Jesus and to find people of peace in every village throughout the country, especially in the northern half of the largest country where there are over ninety million people, which is the fifth largest population of Muslims in the world.
Pray for More Workers
Lord of the Harvest, we ask You to send workers to share the Gospel with the Sylheti people. They are spiritually hungry and thirsty. They are alienated from You.
