Malay people are the majority in Malaysia, as well as an important minority in Indonesia, Brunei, Singapore, and Thailand. Many languages of Indonesia are based on Malay. As a rule, Malays prefer rural life – rice farming andworking on rubber plantations or large agricultural estates. Yet, many live in cities where they work for the government, teach, or labor in factories. Some work in sales, have small businesses, or practice traditional trades. As a people, they are courteous, polite, and stress cleanliness. Still being 99.9% folk Muslim, they need to know Jesus as more than just a prophet. Only one in one thousand follows Christ. The Bible, JESUS film, and Christian literature are available to help evangelize the Malay. Pray for changes among the Malay that will lead to spiritual and physical blessings among Malays everywhere. Pray for Malay disciples who will disciple others. Pray that Christian oil men and businessmen will build ties among the Malay and tell them stories about Jesus that will help them see what Christ offers their community. Pray the Malay have dreams and visions of Jesus.
To ensure a good, bountiful harvest, farmers must abundantly sow seed in their fields. Pray that the seed of the Gospel will be abundantly sown in every unreached people group in Laos.
God of Heaven’s armies, release Your Holy Spirit to descend upon the Khmer community in mighty ways. Pierce hearts and open minds to the knowledge that You alone are called the LORD, that You alone are the Most High, supreme over all the earth. (Psalm 83:18)
Pray that Kalie Reavis might reach her full support and begin working with the Mobilization Team through International Services. Pray for Kalie’s Grandpa Honey’s health. The radiation has caused sores and pain in his mouth, which makes eating nearly impossible.
