Hymns for the Soul – Billy Graham Crusades 18757_Hymns_for_the_Soul_8c68899dee.pdf
Listen/sing along to the old hymn Blessed Assurance by Fanny Crosby.
“I want you to know that what has happened to me has really served to advance the gospel.” (Philippians 1:12)
REFLECT – Although blinded by an illness when Fanny was a baby, she was never bitter but instead believed that her blindness was a blessing. She wrote, “I might not have sung hymns to the praise of God if I had been distracted by the beautiful and interesting things about me.” Reflect upon some of the challenges in your life. Ask the Lord to help you praise Him – with confident assurance – that He is in control. Pray He will use all circumstances for His glory.
PRAY – Savior, I praise You for saving me by shedding Your blood on the cross. And thank You, Father God, for Your Spirit that gives me the assurance that the promise of salvation in Your Word is true. I offer my praises and prayers as an offering to You.
Team Expansion Worker
Please pray for these requests with/for L and M in a sensitive field, code-named Perea:
–for their Mauritanian “son,” Labib, whose job shut down completely during Ramadan, leaving him with no source of income and adding to the stress of not having a vehicle and no funds to purchase one.
-for a softened heart for one of their Yemeni “sons,” a man of influence and respect in his tribe, who has avoided spiritual conversations for many years.
-that our Arab brothers and sisters in Christ in Perea and the surrounding area will be led by the Holy Spirit to begin meeting in simple house churches that grow not by addition but by multiplication.
-that the many relationships represented by their team will lead to salvation.
-(continue praying) that God will expand our Team Expansion Perea ministry team by raising up new team members with a passion for ministering to Arab Muslims.
-(continue praying) that He will place upon the hearts of many more Christ-followers to joins in praying for Perea.
Praise God for multiple opportunities to share during Ramadan.
-The news of deportations by ICE has injected fear into the community, but no one who has been deported among those whom L and M know.
-Their sixteen-year-old grandson Elijah (whom they baptized in Perea in a bathtub) has been selected to coach and counsel young hockey players at a June camp on the campus of Miami University, Ohio. Not only will he be paid, but he will also earn free tuition at the camp for his age group.
-L and M’s granddaughter Emma will graduate from Wittenberg University this May with honors. They praise God for this believing young woman who understands the value of challenging work.
-Praise for encouraging conversations with their dear friends and ministry advocates, Deedra and Matthew, Global Outreach Director at their sending church in Indiana.
