“So, Peter was kept in prison, but earnest prayer for him was made to God by the church.” (Ac. 12:5)
Father in heaven, we ask that Your Kingdom come to Sylheti peoples. When the Sylheti church is persecuted, and even when followers of Jesus are imprisoned, may the church be drawn into earnest, persevering prayer! Lord Jesus, deepen the faith and sustain the prayers of the Sylheti people. As the bride of Christ, may we do what it takes to gladden the hearts of the Sylheti people as they understand that Jesus completely and perfectly made purification for sin and then sat down at the right hand of Majesty.
Team Expansion Worker
-Please pray for E and E’s friend M. She arrived in Missouri and immediately began asking questions about Jesus, theology, and how she could get her own Bible – and in the past few weeks she shared that she is now a believer. Our friend comes from a Muslim background, highly educated, and incredibly sweet. She had been forced to marry her cousin, which is common in her culture (and often results in great marriages). However, she has had many serious issues with her husband and has been seeking safety. Coming to America has given her the freedom to finally study the Bible, which she had been wanting to do for years. She said, “In my country, I had never met a Christian or seen a Bible, but since being here I have met so many loving Christians. Finally, I can read the Bible for myself!”
She also shared, “I was always told that American churches are empty, and no one believed their faith – but I see that is a lie.”
-Please pray over her; she is in a very vulnerable place after professing faith to her family.
Pray for More Workers
Lord of the Harvest, thrust out more workers for Your harvest fields. Send disciples to be Your witnesses among the Sylheti people. Raise up Sylheti disciples who will go and tell others about Jesus and make more Sylheti disciples who will do the same.
