“When he had finished speaking, he said to Simon, ‘Put out into deep water, and let down the nets for a catch.’ Simon answered, ‘Master, we’ve worked hard all night and haven’t caught anything. But because you say so, I will let down the nets.’ When they had done so, they caught such a large number of fish that the nets began to break.”  (Luke 5:4-6)

Indonesia has the world’s largest Muslim population. Traditional Indonesian Islam is mystical and tolerant. However, often foreign-inspired radicals are trying to change this, and some provinces follow stricter versions of Islam. It is both a political and spiritual challenge to maintain Indonesia’s proud tradition of freedom of religion. We praise God that the church has grown over the past sixty years. It has known revival, persecution, and people movements among tribal peoples, as well as widespread turning to Christ among the Javanese and people of Chinese descent. The church has led the way globally in forming prayer networks for city-wide prayer. It is now grappling with the challenge of taking the Gospel to every one of Indonesia’s people and to each of the 45,000 villages without a viable congregation.

Father, we pray for all those involved in leading, training, and resourcing Indonesia’s Christian Church, brimming with potential and yet plagued by nominalism. We pray for Indonesia’s political leaders and for the health, strength and integrity of its institutions. We pray for the poor in the villages and cities to find their treasure in You, Jesus.

Team Expansion Worker

A and R (sensitive field) request prayer for their country. There was a coup, and a new authority was put into place. The borders are closed, and A and R do not know when they will be able to return from the U.S. to their country of service (code named Valor). Please pray for the people of Valor and for A and R as they make decisions in the coming weeks.

  • Pray for the H family as they make decisions about their next steps and grieve leaving Valor.
  • Pray for A and R and family as they all grieve returning to Valor without the H family.
  • Pray for the entire team in Valor as they make adjustments to adapt to these changes.

Pray for More Workers

Lord of the Harvest, thrust out harvest workers from the church in Indonesia to proclaim Your Name and multiply disciples among the mosaic of peoples in that country.
