Jesus illustrated a teaching on salvation through the temple tax found in the mouth of a fish. As the Son of God, He was exempt from the temple tax. He did not have to pay, but He chose to pay the tax so that other sons and daughters of God would be exempt, too. (Matthew 17:24-27)
Lord God, we ask You to continue Your Kingdom work despite obstacles of various kinds. Our prayer is that You will raise up a mighty army of intercessors for that work — intercessors who will ask for mountains to move so that more people may become children of God.
