The DeVries family serve in Taiwan. They were ministers in the U.S.A. for about ten years before going to the mission field. They have experience in preaching ministry, youth ministry, church planting and leading worship. As ministers, the DeVries family deeply desire to see local believers lead a movement of disciples that will transform Taiwan.
Taiwan is an island off the coast of China. The population is 23 million people, approximately three percent of the population is evangelical Christian. The major religions are Buddhism and Taoism and ethnic religions. Most people in Taiwan are religious and worship idols and false gods on a daily basis.
The DeVries along with a few other Team Expansion families host a summer camp for teens. This camp is very evangelistic and is the main outreach for evangelism that they do. From this camp many students join small groups and begin to be discipled. From these small groups, there are new student leaders that then become disciple makers. With the guidance of the Holy Spirit, this is the vision for how Taiwan will become a reached nation.
We understand that this a donation page, but we would ask that you first pray for us. We need money much less than we need prayer. Pray for the local leaders as they learn how to follow the Holy Spirit and lead people. Pray for the local leaders as they deal with sin issues, family crisis, adverse culture, confusing traditions and all sorts of struggles.
