In 2023, God granted Team Expansion numerous opportunities to extend Jesus’s love to those affected by natural disasters, resulting in unprecedented Gospel openness. Following the Morocco earthquake, a hunger for the Word emerged, leading to the distribution of hundreds of Bibles alongside relief aid. Local partnerships in Afghanistan, Turkey, Morocco, Ukraine, and Libya yielded new believers and churches. In 2024, our focus shifts to new fields, collaborating with national believers to address immediate needs post-disasters and train workers in discipleship and church planting amid recovery efforts.

How We Move From Disaster Relief to Disciple Making
God has shown us that by meeting the immediate needs that follow a disaster, amazing new opportunities for Gospel advancement follow. There are four primary stages to our strategy. Stage one, meeting the immediate needs (disaster relief). Stage two, raising up and training local disciple makers. Stage three, providing resources for Gospel advancement (eg. Bibles). Stage four, locating and connecting with seekers through Social Media Ads. You can partner with us in this process at whichever stage you feel most passionate about. Disaster Relief
Having funds on hand for disaster relief. When the ground shakes and the water rises, the need is great and immediate. We would like to have a fund on hand where we can send in the first trucks with food, blankets and clean water. This will give us time to gather more funds for relief from church partners and relief organizations who grant us funds in the following weeks.

Training Local Believers
Funds for training nationals workers. When necessary, we send in our US based team to train local workers in the fruitful practices of making disciples who make disciples. When possible we use national workers who have proven to be fruitful in making disciples and planting churches to travel to surrounding regions to train co-laborers in the kingdom in the fruitful practices of multiplying disciples and churches.

Resources
Funds for resources. There is great power in hearing the Word of God in your heart language. When giving help in the name of Jesus, it is wonderful to also give the word of God in the form of a written Bible or audio-Bible. It is often a good time to gather families or communities to watch the Jesus film on a Tablet.

Social Media Ads
Funds for Social Media ads. Social media ads have proven to be a powerful tool in spreading the Gospel message and contacting seekers. People who may not be willing to engage in a face to face conversation with a missionary may well watch a video or respond to a question on social media. This may lead them to download a Bible or engage in a chat and may even lead to a face-to-face meeting. Social media is being used all over the world to spread the Gospel.
