We serve on the Island of Taiwan, which is home to over 23 million people. The majority of these people are ethnically Chinese and speak Mandarin and Taiwanese. Only about 5% of the population are Christians. The major religions are Buddhism and Taoism, but most people believe in a combination of these and include ancestor worship as well. We have been serving in Taiwan for over 20 years, having lived in the cities of Kaohsiung, Taichung, and currently, Lotung.
Making disciples that make disciples is our goal. We believe that discipleship is the basis for planting churches. Our hope is to begin a Disciple Multiplication Movement in Taiwan that will lead to the evangelization of Taiwan and the planting of churches throughout Taiwan. We desire to make disciples in our community through leading by example in prayer, Bible study, obedience to the Word, evangelism, and compassion ministries. We use discipleship methods to lead groups in our home and community.
We are also supporting the ministry of The Home of God’s Love, a children’s home. We assist in many ways to care for the children and the grounds. Discipleship of the children is a major part of our ministry there. We also are helping to develop a plan for transition to a new director and future ministry.
Please pray with us for the people of Taiwan to accept the truth of the Gospel and to become true disciples of Jesus Christ. “Know the Truth, and the Truth will set you free!” John 8:32
