Continuing to follow God’s call on our lives, Claudine, and I (Eric) relocated our family from Louisville Kentucky to St, Louis Missouri in October of 2020. Refugees from around the world are finding a home in St. Louis and the opportunity to reach them with the message of Jesus is great.
Being Congolese refugees ourselves we understand the many challenges they face. We also know that the first people to show them compassion and care in St. Louis will have the best opportunity to influence their spiritual lives. The Church needs to be the first to show them love, the love of Jesus.
Our strategy is to engage people in their everyday lives and begin relationships that will lead to spiritual conversations. Refugees face the struggles of living within a new culture with a new set of systems and rules. Many of these systems and rules are untaught – we just expect people to know how to use a digital washing machine or report a car accident. We want to help them figure things out – all things Jesus.
Partnering with the local church is so important to us. Our hope and prayer is to bring Christians together to reach out to lost people. We are stronger when we work side by side.
