Description

As a Louisville Diaspora Intern with our Pathways program, you’ll spend nine weeks immersed in prayer, relationship-building, and service among Afghan and Somali refugee families in the Louisville Metro area. Your time will be shared between Team Expansion’s Digital Strategies department (helping create content for teams engaging unreached people groups) and our local diaspora team (engaging immigrant and refugee families).

Interns will participate in prayer walking, home visits, soccer games, cookouts, and practical help such as job applications, driving lessons, or accompanying families to health visits. You’ll also have the opportunity to join our team in sharing the Gospel, reading and listening to the Word of God with families, praying with them in Jesus’ name, and training them to make disciples who make disciples. Depending on team needs, you may also occasionally help with facility maintenance at Team Expansion’s Emerald Hills campus.

This is a Disciple Making Movement (DMM)-centric role designed for those with a heart to see the Great Commission fulfilled among unreached people groups.


Responsibilities

  • Participate in weekly prayer walks and house visits
  • Pray daily for unreached peoples and team efforts
  • Build genuine relationships with immigrants and refugees through everyday life and ministry opportunities
  • Assist with Digital Strategies content creation for global teams
  • Join in team efforts such as soccer games, cookouts, and practical service
  • Complete all required Pathways Internship training
  • Be accountable to the team and respond to communication in a timely manner
  • May occasionally assist with facility maintenance at Emerald Hills

Qualifications & Requirements

  • A deep love for Jesus and a daily abiding walk with Him
  • A learner’s attitude and willingness to grow
  • Outgoing personality and ability to build cross-cultural relationships
  • Self-starter, able to take initiative in ministry and service
  • Commitment to prayer and disciple making
  • Must raise funds to cover 9 weeks in Louisville
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle
  • Willingness to engage in house visits, prayer walking, and other outreach activities
  • Must complete all required training associated with the Pathways Internship

Funding

This is a support-based position. Interns are responsible to raise the funds necessary to participate.
