The Member Care Associate will provide professional care for Team Expansion missionaries so they and their family can thrive physically, emotionally and spiritually on the field. Care is provided from recruit status through full-time employment and beyond. The work is customized to the needs of the missionary, relationally based and coordinated with others in the organization.
DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
- Raise and maintain a personal support base.
- Undergird all thoughts and actions with prayer.
- Connect, at least monthly, with those they are assigned for care.
- Assess new recruits for field readiness and collaborate with the recruit on a plan of care for optimal health on the field.
- Attend Link training week and meet with new recruits.
- Coordinate the missionary and their family’s care with the Field Supervisor and Third Culture Kid care provider.
- Make overseas Field Visits as needed.
- Attend Team Expansion’s annual conference, ICOM (International Conference on Missions) and other trainings and conferences.
- Provide debriefing for missionaries at Home Office Visits, and as needed.
- Facilitate church partnerships for the development of missionary care.
- Become a certified provider of the PREP personality assessment.
- Serve on the application committee.
- Meet with the Member Care supervisor for monthly encouragement, prayer and accountability.
QUALIFICATIONS
- The Member Care Associate will be a Bible believer with a mature worldview, a commitment to the Great Commission, and devoted to prayer.
- The Member Care Associate should have a deep desire to help missionaries be successful in multiplying disciples who make more disciples.
- The Member Care Associate should possess the ability to listen and relate to cross-cultural workers.
- The Member Care Associate should display a willingness to continue to grow and learn by taking additional training.
- The Member Care Associate will have a burning compassion for and deep commitment to Unreached People Groups.
- The Member Care Associate will possess administration skills.
EXPECTED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
- Possess pastoral gifts
- Feel called to care for missionaries and their families
- Knowledgeable or willing to be trained in the basic principles of mental health, including trauma informed care
- Display communication skills for interaction with teams, churches, mental health professionals and others involved in the care of the missionary.
- Must be computer literate
