We’re looking for a compassionate, Christ-centered individual to walk alongside missionaries—offering prayer, care, and presence when it’s needed most. This part-time role offers meaningful, Kingdom-impacting work with flexibility. The preferred location for this role would be Team Expansion’s home office in Louisville, KY.
DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
- Undergird all thoughts and actions with prayer.
- Connect monthly with those they are assigned to care for.
- Assess new recruits for field readiness and collaborate with the recruit on a plan of care for optimal health on the field.
- Coordinate the missionary and their family’s care with the Field Supervisor and Third Culture Kid care provider.
- Attend Team Expansion’s annual conference, ICOM (International Conference on Missions), and three in-office training weeks.
- Provide debriefing for missionaries during Home Office Visits.
- Make occasional overseas Field Visits.
- Meet with the Member Care Director for monthly encouragement, prayer, and accountability.
- Raise and maintain a personal prayer and support base.
QUALIFICATIONS
- The Member Care Associate will be a Bible believer with a mature worldview, a commitment to the Great Commission, and a devotion to prayer.
- The Member Care Associate should have a deep desire to help missionaries be successful in multiplying disciples who make more disciples.
- The Member Care Associate should possess the ability to listen to and relate with cross-cultural workers.
- The Member Care Associate should display a willingness to continue to grow and learn by taking additional training.
- The Member Care Associate will have a burning compassion for, and deep commitment to, Unreached People Groups.
- The Member Care Associate will possess administrative skills.
EXPECTED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
- Possess pastoral gifts.
- Feel called to care for missionaries and their families.
- Be knowledgeable or willing to be trained in the basic principles of mental health, including trauma-informed care.
- Display communication skills for interaction with teams, churches, mental health professionals, and others involved in the care of the missionary.
- Must be computer literate.
