As a Third Culture Kid (TCK) Care Associate based in Louisville, Kentucky, you’ll play a vital role in nurturing, equipping, and advocating for the next generation of global workers. From planning meaningful debriefs and engaging training events to championing child safety and offering thoughtful, compassionate care, your work will directly support families on the front lines of ministry. You’ll be part of a close-knit, prayer-focused team committed to seeing TCKs thrive—emotionally, spiritually, and culturally. This role isn’t just about logistics and programming (though there’s plenty of that!)—it’s about listening deeply, building trust, and pointing families back to the faithfulness of God through every transition. Responsibilities of Position
- Monthly LIFT with supervisor, weekly team prayer and check-in, and coordinate in-office details with stateside TCK Care Associate(s)
- Assist with planning and facilitating Home Office Visit family debriefs and TCK programming
- Assist with preparing for and facilitating Link TCK Pre-Field training (up to 3x/year when families are participating)
- Assist with preparing for and facilitating TCK programming for Connect, an annual org-wide gathering that rotates between taking place in the US, in Europe, and in Asia
- Participate in the International Conference on Missions (and/or other stateside events as needed) as a representative of Team Expansion’s TCK Care team, to connect with our workers who attend, and to network with other missions/ministries for TCKs
- Assist with recruiting local TCK volunteers
- Monitor Child Safety Training online responses
- Lead a team in evaluating our current Child Safeguarding program and implement a plan for growth and improvement
- Attend the Child Safety Protection Network’s annual conference
- Ongoing education related to TCK and cross-cultural missionary families (books, podcasts, workshops, conferences, etc.) as recommended by TCK Care Coordinator
Qualifications & Requirements
- Complete application (including background check, personal references, etc.)
- Raise financial and prayer support team (with advice and resources from Team Expansion staff)
- Prioritizes prayer
- Works well with a team
- Willingness to communicate with parents of TCKs using a variety of platforms (WhatsApp, Zoom, email, etc.)
- Checks email regularly during work hours on weekdays and responds in a timely manner
- Eager to learn, receives and gives feedback with both truth and grace
- Desires to build trust and approach families with curious compassion
- Open to working with kids of all ages
- Experience working with kids and/or in ministry
