Two years ago, we wound our way up the mountain on a brutally narrow road to a small village church to encourage the Christians there and pray for them in their homes. This year, we once again headed up the mountain to join the believers from this church in sharing the Gospel and bringing Christmas to a remote, unreached village farther up the road.
After the Christmas celebration was over and people were heading home, a mother and a young girl with a baby on her back came up to me, excitedly trying to communicate in the local language. We had one of the pastors interpret for us, but still couldn’t believe what we heard!
This family was one of the homes where we prayed two years ago. The young girl and her husband had been married for almost three years and had been trying to have a baby without success. I had prayed for God to bless them with children. Two months after we prayed, they conceived.
The young girl was excited to introduce me to her one-year-old daughter, the answer to our prayers!
We don’t always get to see these miraculous answers to the prayers we offer on behalf of the people around us, but when we do, it’s always so exciting and humbling to see what God can do with our efforts.
