Team Expansion sends missionaries all over the world to reach the unreached. Unreached people groups (UPGs) are people who are unlikely to hear the Gospel because they are unlikely to every meet a Christian or see a Bible.
There is a special kind of UPGs called Unengaged Unreached people groups (UUPGs). This means that, as far as we know, these people have no known churches among them, and don’t even have any believers in their group. And there is no missionary who is trying to reach these people with the Gospel.
Team Expansion has identified and committed to engaging UUPGs in four South American countries: Brazil, Colombia, Paraguay, and Argentina.
Brazil
Team Expansion workers are engaging five UUPGs in Brazil. These groups live in remote areas that are difficult to reach. In some cases, visitors must be invited by the village chief in order to enter the region because it is a restricted area. Conflict between ranchers, miners, and indigenous people have made some places very dangerous for visitors. People in four of the five people groups have expressed interest in hearing more about Jesus. In two of the tribes, some have decided to follow Jesus and be baptized!
Please pray that every village would have a church among the five groups. Pray for the safety of the workers as they travel to them.
Columbia
In Colombia, Team Expansion’s partners from neighboring people groups who have been trained to make disciples and plant churches are traveling to take the Gospel to 6 groups who have never heard the name of Jesus. On the first trip, the team baptized two members of one of the tribes.
Paraguay and Argentina
Another team of trained indigenous workers is engaging the last known UUPG in Paraguay and the last known UUPG in Argentina. There are now believers and churches in both groups! These believers from the recently engaged group have been trained and are returning to their homes to make disciples and plant churches.
