Soon after we met in 2015, we began to feel God pulling us to serve him in Japan. Japan is one of the largest unreached people groups in the world; only about 1% of Japan’s population knows and follows Jesus. Team Expansion shares our passion for the people of Japan, and we joined their team in Ishinomaki, Japan, as of 2023.
Since then, we have been studying the language and culture, building local relationships, and sharing our faith with Japanese friends. Our ultimate goal is to make disciples of Jesus who are equipped and empowered to do the same among their neighbors. We hope to contribute to the multiplication of disciples and churches in Japan. In other words, we will make disciples who make disciples and plant churches that plant churches! We believe such multiplication is a key to reaching this large, unreached people group.
